This new study, reported in the Guardian, shows how adventure and residential activities raise well-being for us all. Campaign for Adventure advocates living a life with new horizons, experiences and challenges if confidence, self-esteem and health are to flourish in our communities and families. Not only this, but crime, substance-abuse, self-abuse and antisocial behaviour are less present in our society – this is not a good time to be reducing our youth services, the very place Big Society starts and becomes embedded in young lifes and lifestyles.
