Libby Purves was Question Master at the recent meeting of the All party Parliamentary Group on Risk and Adventure in Society. The panel questioned included Bill Callaghan, Chair of the Health & Safety Commission, Karen Brush, CEO Institute for Outdoor Learning, Hillary Chittock, Director Girl Guiding UK, John Bangs, CEO of the National Union of Teachers.

Co-Chairs of the APPG, Julian Brazier TD MP, Lembit Opik MP and Derek Wyatt MP had a very animated session with many fellow MPs showing great frustration with the inability of our system to get to grips with the issues.

Peter Bottomley MP helpfully suggested a meeting of all concerned with the problems of insurance, litigation, volunteering, red-tape and judiciary issues. It is expeected that this will be hosted by the Campaign for Adventure in June.
